Oestrogen Exposé Another Inconvenient Truth. By Dr Graeme Williams 2008© A warning to mankind that transcends race, religion and status. Some will hear, Some will listen, Others will hear nothing at all. Neale Donald Walsch An Open Letter To Government Representatives
At a time when governments worldwide are struggling to meet the financial demands of burgeoning health systems, I am writing to inform you that a credible opportunity to resoundingly reduce the incidence of obesity, diabetes, depression, breast cancer and prostate cancer is at hand – an opportunity to improve the diminishing health of our nation and to significantly reduce government health expenditure – however it is largely ignored.
All these diseases, grave in nature and severely escalating in frequency, are being caused by exposure to excess oestrogen. Yes, an excess of oestrogen, not an oestrogen deficiency. All of these diseases can be stemmed if we significantly reduce our own endogenous oestrogen production (from our own body), and curtail the human ingestion of xeno-oestrogens, (synthetic, foreign oestrogenic molecules), from within our environment - whether they be from agricultural pesticides, or the products of plastic degradation, hormone-enhanced food, or ingested unsuspectingly in pharmaceuticals. Nevertheless, the truth is indisputable. Just as we have changed our opinions on the dangers of smoking and the existence of climate change, it is now time to confront the 21st century global epidemics of obesity, diabetes, heart disease, breast cancer and prostate cancer – the perilous evidence of our oestrogen-enhanced environment.
HOW DOES EXCESS OESTROGEN AFFECT AUSTRALIAN HEALTH? FACTS: 1. 53% of Australians are overweight or obese. 2. 7.5% of those over 25 years of age have type two diabetes, a figure which increases to 20% beyond the age of 60. 3. Breast and prostate cancer account for 30% of all female and male cancers respectively. Furthermore, the incidence of these cancers have both increased by 30% during the last 10 years, because they are both initiated and promoted by the same hormone, namely oestrogen. 4. 50% of men have non-cancerous prostate enlargement by the time they are 50, and four out of every five men will require prostate surgery to ‘rebore’ the enlargement sufficient to pass water, before they turn 80. 5. Once only 10% of men developed prostate cancer, now an alarming 50% contract the disease today,… yet only 30% are diagnosed! 6. 80% of women suffer with heavy periods, endometriosis or fibroid formation, induced by the effects of excess oestrogen, and one in eight Australian women between the ages of 18 and 45 undergo hysterectomy to remove the focus of bleeding rather than correct the underlying cause. 7. Heart disease causes 130 deaths a day in Australia alone, amounting to 50,000 deaths a year, a figure compounded by raised oestrogen, which has been proven, to increase heart disease by 27%, to increase stroke by 41%, and to increase pulmonary embolism by 100%. 8. 80% of all GP consultations are for stress-related disorders – anxiety, depression, hypertension, gastritis, irritable bowel, eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, eating disorders and compromised immunity – dutifully masked by a plethora of pharmaceuticals, designed to reduce symptoms and to maintain pharmaceutical company profits, without real concern for cure or prevention. 9. Whilst $42 billion has been allocated to health in 2007/08 Commonwealth Budget, the majority has been earmarked to treat diseases, once they have already occurred, rather than trying to prevent disease in the first place. Prevention is the best medicine.Again, the question of increasing obesity, type two diabetes, heart disease, stroke, anxiety, depression, prostate enlargement, prostate cancer and breast cancer, has one answer – they all are caused by excess oestrogen; and one solution - stop using oestrogen hormones and growth stimulants in agriculture, strictly limit the use of oestrogens in pharmaceuticals and strive to reduce our own endogenous oestrogen production – made principally in the fat cells of men and women. In brief, male and female testosterone is converted into oestradiol oestrogen within our fat cells....the more fat we have, the more oestrogen produced.....and the more we have exposure to agricultural and pharmaceutical xeno-oestrogens, the faster we convert testosterone to oestrogen and the sooner we suffer from oestrogenic symptoms. Already we are witnessing young boys with obesity and breast development...and young women with ‘menopausal’ symptoms...and middle aged people suffering from diabetes, depression, heart disease and cancer at younger and younger ages. It is imperative to stop the commercial oestrogenisation of poultry, pork, prawns, fish and cattle. Stop using oestrogenic pesticides and herbicides in cattle dips, sheep dips and weed sprays; and especially stop the massive carcinogenic influx of oestrogen in women using the pill and HRT....which end up in our food, our water supply and eventually our bodies. Governments world-wide, have had ample opportunity to introduce policy that could significantly reduce suffering and improve national health… yet they remain silent! Just as industry has exercised self-regulation and restraint to address climate change, governments and multinational corporations need to consider their contribution to disease, infertility and the demise of Australian health, if they continue to allow xeno-estrogens to contaminate our environment. The companies responsible for the production and marketing of fungicides and pesticides, of agriculture and aquaculture enhancers, and of oestrogen-laden HRT and contraceptive pills need to be scrutinised. They must be deterred from polluting the public domains - our food and our ecosystems – in their pursuit of profit and market share, and they must be persuaded into curbing the use of oestrogenic compounds. Many are unaware that egg and sperm counts have halved in the last 30 years; and that they will continue to halve in the next 15 years, 7.5 years, and so forth, until in 30 years time, humans may not be able to reproduce. The realities of a hyper-oestrogenised environment, place the climate change hazards into perspective. We may be on a path to meet emission objectives by 2060, but if the hormonal excess of our ecosystem is continually disregarded, then our personal hormonal health, (and ultimately human fertility) – as opposed to climatic and environmental “health” – will emerge as this century’s most troubling issue. Don't worry about meeting climate change objectives by 2060, humanity as we know it, will not exist unless something is done now. Our grandchildren's children will be infertile; and breast cancer, prostate cancer, type two diabetes, obesity, heart disease and depression, will have devastated Australian and world communities. The time has come for every Australian to consider their own health, and for every representative and public intellectual to consider the economic and social future of their country. Our elected representatives must decide, between the extent of wellbeing, or the degree of suffering of their fellow Australians; and between their need for short-term approval, or the long-term health of our Nation; for their decisions now will not only shape the future of Australia, they will ultimately determine our destiny. It is time to get serious. • Don't ignore the role of oestrogen - it is a growth hormone, introduced into food chains in minute but highly active quantities, to increase profit without consideration of the health of any nation. • Protect our oceans, our fish supplies, our breeding livestock and the health and fertility of our children. • Resist drug company involvement in medical education. • Limit corporate lobbyists from manipulating political outcomes, and • Oppose government initiatives to recycle oestrogen-contaminated waste water from sewage effluent, for human and livestock consumption. Be ever aware of the intense Government lobbying by self-interested pharmaceutical corporations, only too happy to direct considerable funds into a research project or an anonymous steering committee, to secure market advantage. I urge you to carefully consider, if not doubt, the advice of drug company-funded research institutions and their professor representatives, and if they speak out against this, demand to know their pecuniary interests and why they care more about maintaining corporate profit than the health and wellbeing of Australian families. Ask why they indulge in medical manipulation by conveniently ignoring established, peer-reviewed evidence-based medical research, in favour of their own in-house ‘research’, which they merely trot-out for FDA approval to secure patent-rights, market share and maximum profit. Governments too, primarily interested in preserving their power and votes, may well deny any knowledge of any excess oestrogen problem in our community, only too happy to blame the previous government for an oversight; or worse still, continue to deny its existence after having sought biased opinion from the perpetrators of Government manipulation, the pharmaceutical company lobbyists of Canberra. It is time to exclude pharmaceutical company involvement from medical education and Government manipulation. The oestrogen problem is far more important than retaining votes, or apportioning blame, or maintaining research incomes, or satisfying corporate shareholders; rather, we need to maintain the health of our country, reduce suffering, and fight to protect the human species, before it's too late. In 1992, at the Earth Summit in Rio, 1600 world scientists issued a warning to humanity, ‘human activities are inflicting harsh and irreversible damage on the environment, such that urgent fundamental changes must be made within the next 20 years lest the prospects for humanity be irretrievably lost’. Unfortunately it was ignored. Now some 18 years later, it is even more pressing and more urgent to act now, or the world will not be able to sustain life in the manner we know. As a doctor and internationally-noted hormone authority, with more than three decades of medical experience, I urge you to discover the evidence-based, scientific, medical data which proves the role of oestrogen in initiating and promoting breast and prostate cancer, its direct stimulation of fat deposition, its production of anxiety and depression, and how it is directly responsible for the cause of type two diabetes. Most importantly, I urge you to be courageous and to encourage doctors and politicians to:- • Confirm the need to acquire greater information about oestrogen excess within our community and its role in promoting cancer and disease. • Commit yourself to improving the health of our nation and in turn, save state and federal budgets billions of dollars in misdirected funds and avoidable expenses. • Make a decision… call for an end to oestrogenisation-by-stealth, and contribute to a paradigm shift in popular thinking that will help correct the ever deteriorating welfare and wellbeing of our fellow Australians. • Strive to make a difference, a worthy contribution to humanity… before it's too late. My summaries are no substitute for actual scientific evidence, and accordingly, I have included an integrated summary of the health effects of excess oestrogen, complete with more than one hundred evidence-based medical references. I want to let the statistics persuade you. Thankyou for your consideration, on behalf of concerned scientists, vocal advocates and affected men, women and children nationwide. Yours Sincerely, Dr Graeme Williams BSc,BAppSc,MBBS. Only when the last tree has died,
And the last river been poisoned, And the last fish been caught, And the last foetus been formed, Will we realise that we can't eat money, And we can't sustain life. A GPW modified adaption from an 1885 saying of the Canadian Plains Cree Indians. |
